Shortly after Anna Nicole Smith’s death there was a custody battle for her baby girl. Howard K. Stern was thought to be the father until DNA tests revealed that Larry Birkhead was the biological father. Larry Birkhead was then given custody over Anna Nicole’s baby girl. Howard lost his companion, his baby girl, so will he now lose his freedom?

Anna Nicole Smith’s companion, Howard K. Stern, along with her doctor, Sandeep Kapoor, and her psychiatrist, Khristine Eroshevich, are charged with conspiracy. Doctor Sandeep Kapoor and psychiatrist Khristine Eroshevich are also looking at charges for prescribing Anna Nicole controlled substances excessively. Knowing of Anna Nicole’s drug addiction they prescribed these drugs to her under fictitous names.


In a news conference in Los Angeles, California Attorney General Jerry Brown detailed the charges that were filed on Thursday stating that “What we have in this case is a conspiracy among three individuals. Howard K. Stern is the principal enabler and Dr. Eroshevich and Dr. Kapoor are prescribing drugs excessively to a known addict, using false, fictitious names”.

Doctor Kapoor and Howard K. Stern turned themselves in on Thursday and were released shortly after by posting bail at $20,000. Attorney General Brown said that psychiatrist Eroshevich is expected to turn herself in early next week.

Anna Nicole Smith’s tragic death occurred on February 8th 2007 when she accidentally overdosed on prescription drugs. Anna Nicole had recently given birth a a baby girl shortly after losing her son due to a drug overdose.
