Justin Timberlake is executive producing a new MTV reality show, ‘The Phone’, which premiered on Tuesday at 10 p.m. The contestants will receive a call on their cellphone, they must accept a challenge and complete several high-stakes missions. The missions are all clues to the winning prize of $50,000.
Here’s what Justin told PEOPLE, “We take four people and put them through a game of hell, basically. We make them characters in an action film. We constantly throw a curve ball.”
This show was inspired by a program in Holland with a similar plot. Justin said, “our version is that show on acid.” Justin has taken part in the early development of the six-episode series. He said, “I helped format the show and come up with ideas to constantly up the stakes on the contestants. But I have such a great team that put together the ins and outs of the show.”
