Madonna’s Malawian attorney says there is no law that’s against the pop star from adopting a second child from Africa.
The recording artist, 50, already has two biological children and a 3-year-old boy she adopted from Malawi as a baby.
Judge Esmie Chombo is expected to announce Friday his decision about Madonna’s possible adoption of the 4-year-old Chifundo “Mercy” James.
The Ngasa Times quoted the singer’s lawyer, Allan Chinula, as saying he is confident Chombo will allow Madonna to adopt the child.
“I am not sleeping sleepless nights over this,” Chinula said. “I don’t see any law in Malawi that can stop this adoption.”
