Chace Crawford To Play Lead Role In ‘Footloose’ Remake

Zac Efron announced a while back that he would not be starring in Paramount’s remake of the 1984 movie musical ‘Footloose’. He had been advise against taking doing any more musical to avoid being branded this early in his career.
Zac starred in the High School Musical, directed by Kenny Ortega. He’s tried to star in other movies to broaden his acting career by starring in ‘Seventeen Again’ and also in ‘Me and Orson Welles’. Neither of which are musicals.
Kenny Ortega and Paramount have found an actor to play the lead role in the remake of ‘Footloose’. The new lead actor will be Chace Crawford. Paramount still needs to find the actress to play the female lead. Some sources have revealed to EW that actress such as Hayden Panettiere and Julianne Hough are being considered for the role.
