Cyndi Lauper & Husband David Thornton Come Together

Tribeca Film Festival is putting together a film, “Here and There”, where both Cyndi and David will play a part. It’s been almost 20 years since the couple met on the set.
This will be the first the couple play an acting role together since the 1991 “Off and Running.” Cyndi had this to say, “I thought it would be a great thing to be a part of and I got to be in two scenes with him. He’s a fantastic actor.” She has also written a song for this independent film.
Cyndi went on to say, “I love storytelling so if it’s a small scene about a real person then I like to do that.” She’s sold over 25 million albums worldwide and is best-known for her 1980s hits: “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” and “True Colors.”
After David was cast in the lead role as Rober in this “Here and There” Cyndi Lauper got involved.David plays Robert who’s a jaded middle-aged New Yorker who makes a trip to Serbia to make fast cash by marrying a woman who wants to move to the United States.
Serbian director, Darko Lungulov, had this to say, “Truth be told I didn’t know that Cyndi was (David’s) wife and in passing he suggested that his wife could maybe write a song for the film.”He mentioned how he had to ask David who he was married to.
Darko added, “It was great to collaborate with them, it was a lot of fun.”At first he had such a small budget for the film that he couldn’t approach any agents or actors. But with the help of Jim Stark it generated some interest among actors in New York City which led to David’s casting. David has been in other movies such as “Unhook the Stars” and “Home Alone 3.”
