In the early 90’s, a woman who interned for David Letterman says she was one of Letterman’s top 10 on the staff.
Holly Hester said the intership was her first job in the TV business. At the time she was a student at New York University. Hester says during a hiatus, Dave would call her up and asked her to the movies. It began as a series of secret dates, without anyone on the staff knowing. Hester said, “I was madly in love with him at the time. I would have married him. He was hilarious.”
Hester says Dave ended it after a year. She said he told her that the age difference was to big.
