After a London photo shoot with actress Lindsay Lohan, diamond jewels worth around $410,000 went missing her spokeswoman and British police said on Tuesday.
British media said the jewels were made by Dior and loaned to Elle Magazine for the photo shoot in north London on June 6.
“Officers from Westminster police are investigating an allegation of theft of jewelry from studios in Brewery Road, Islington,” from a statement the police said.
They did not say Lohan’s name, but the statement was issued in response to a query about the actress.
“The theft was reported to a central London police station on 8 June 2009 after earrings and a necklace, believed to be diamond and estimated to be worth in the region of 250,000 pounds, were found to be missing approximately two days earlier.”
The police said there have been no arrests, and they would be interviewing several people in connection with their inquiry.
A spokeswoman for Lohan acknowledged the probe.
In addition she added that there were some 20 people at the photo shoot, Lohan was not being investigated personally and she had not been questioned by the police yet.
“No one has contacted us,” said the spokeswoman.
