Funny People, the movie
This is an Adam Sandler, Happy Madison, comedy movie starring Adam Sandler. Adam plays George Simmons, a very successful stand-up comedian.
George finds out he has a blood disorder which leaves him with only a year, if not less, to live. He then asks Ira Wright, played by Seth Rogen, to be his semi-personal assistant at the opening act of his performances. Ira, a struggling up-and-coming stand-up comedian, takes George up on the offer.
By working together George teaches Ira how to improve his act by showing him how to win over the crowd. In exchange Ira shows George how to find closure in his legacy. Neither one has any close friends, but by working together they develop a close friendship.
This movie will be in theaters July 31.
