Katy Perry Doesn’t Want To Upset Religious Parents With Divorce

Katy Perry wanted Russell Brand to file the court papers in their divorce, because she doesn’t want to upset her religious parents.
Katy and Russell had a idea that the relationship was on the rocks a couple of months ago, but they wanted to make an effort to work things out.
Both of them felt that “it just wasn’t there.”
Katy and Russell were on board with the divorce a few weeks ago, but they didn’t want to be in town when the papers were filed. Russell went back to England, and that’s why Katy was spotted in Hawaii not too long ago.
Because Katy’s parents are evangelical Christians, she doesn’t want to “officially” end the marriage by filing the documents, since she was raised to believe divorce is wrong.
Russell filed the documents, and on Friday stated that the two will “remain friends.”
