Madonna Applies For Adoption Of Daughter

Madonna and Lourdes made a trip to the African village of Malawi to meet the newest family member. During their 30 minute stay, Madonna and Lourdes visited kids and handicraft workers in Chinkhota.
Madonna applied to adopt Mercy James. A few years back Madonna adopted David Banda and now she’d like for him to have a sister. Despite human rights groups complaining that this is unlawful and the slamming of the grandmother of orphan girl (Mercy James) Madonna has gone to court to continue with the adoption process.
Many human rights groups feel that this celebrities such as Madonna use their title as ‘celebrities’ to bypass adoption laws. “People like her are looking for the most beautiful child. They wouldn’t choose a child with a disability. It doesn’t help to take one child out of an orphanage to a palace and buy them a pony. Madonna’s heart may be in the right place — but she’s setting a terrible example,” said Spokesman Dominic Nutt.
Regardless of all the negative publicity, Madonna has named Joyce Banda, Foreign Affairs Minister, part of a “task force” that is to set up a school influenced by her Kabbalah charity Raising Malawi. Joyce may soon become this country’s vice president. Along with Joyce the school’s board members will be Victoria Keelan and Alan Chinula. Victoria was the one who contacted Madonna about assistance in Malawi. The Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Women, Olive Chikankeni, will also be joining the task force.
