Marilynne Robinson Won Orange Prize For Novel “Home”

Author Marilynne Robinson was given the Orange Prize for Fiction for her third novel, “Home,” during a ceremony at London’s Royal Festival Hall.
She previously won the Pulitzer Prize for her 2004 book “Gilead.” Robinson on Wednesday beat five other female fiction writers from across the world for the Orange honor, which included a $48,000 cash prize, the BBC said.
Fi Glover, a judge, described “Home” as a “kind, wise, enriching novel” that was “exquisitely crafted.”
“We were unanimously agreed — it is a profound work of art,” Glover said.
In addition, Francesca Kay picked up the New Writers award for her debut novel, “An Equal Stillness,” the BBC said.
