Matt Dillon’s speed-demon case has puttered out.
The Crash star was busted in December for allegedly driving 106 mph in a 65 mph zone on an interstate in Newbury, Vermont.
He has pleaded guilty to the speeding charge and came up with an $828 fine to be able to get his case dismissed. Prosecutors dropped another charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, in return.
A police report said that the actor was cooperative throughout the whole incident and he quoted Dillon saying, “I screwed up, I know, I know.” Dillon’s passenger was fellow actor Fisher Stevens.
Dillon had faced a sentence of one year behind bars and a fine of $1,000.
