Mel Gibson’s Wife Files For Divorce

Mel Gibson’s wife filed for divorce on Monday, citing irreconcilable differences.
Robyn Gibson filed the petition, which gives no details of the breakup, in Los Angeles Superior Court.
The couple have seven children, only one of them is under 18. Robyn Gibson has requested joint custody of their son who’s 10th birthday is on Tuesday.
As to how the couple is going to divided their valuables, has not been said. Robyn Gibson is seeking jewelry and earnings and valuables she accumulated after the couple separated, and a share of the money and valuables Mel Gibson, 53, has earned over the past three decades as a Hollywood hitmaker.
Robyn wants the actor-director to pay spousal support and her attorney’s fees.
Mel Gibson filed a response to the divorce filing with in four hours, stating that the couple separated in August of 2006. He does not want to pay Robyn Gibson spousal support and is seeking that attorneys’ fees be paid out of the couple’s joint property.
His divorce was first reported by celebrity gossip site TMZ, which made a splash for its reporting of the actor’s anti-Semitic slurs uttered during a drunken driving arrest in July 2006.
The Gibsons released a statement Monday, seeking privacy.
“Throughout our marriage and separation we have always strived to maintain the privacy and integrity of our family and will continue to do so,” the statement read.
Court records show that the couple have been married since June 1980.
