Moon Movie

This movie takes place in the near future on the far side of the moon. Astronaut Sam Bell is completing a three year contract wtih Lunar Industries.

In this contract he must live on the moon for three years and mine Helium-3, Earth’s main source of energy. Sam’s only form of live communication with those on Earth is via a satellite which no longer works, so he is subject to sending and receiving recorded messages as his only way to communicate.

His three year contract is almost at an end and he couldn’t be more excited about going back home to see his wife, Tess, and their three year old daughter, Eve. He looks forward to being able to talk to someone besides “Gerty”, the well-intentioned yet very simple computer.

Unexpectedly, Sam starts to experience painful headaches and hallucinations. His inability to focus almost costs him his life during a routine drive around the moon in which he has no recollection as to how he made it back to the base.

Sam also meets an angrier, younger version of himself, or is he hallucinating? His younger version claims he’s there to fulfill the same three year contract Sam has almost completed. Sam must find out what’s going on before the support crew arrives. He must determine where he fits into the company’s plan.

The cast consists of : Sam Rockwell, Kevin Spacey, Dominique McElligott, Rosie Shaw, Kaya Scodelario, Benedict Wong

This movie will be in theaters June 12
