Redmond O’Neal, 24, has been transferred to a jail specially fit to serve drug offenders, a spokesman for the L.A. County Sheriff Department said on Thursday.
O’Neal is the son of Ryan O’Neal and Farrah Fawcett. He was recently ordered to finish a 12-month rehabilitation program at his sentencing for probation violation and felony drug possession.
Redmond was transferred to the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic on Wednesday afternoon where he will begin his “aggressive drug and alcohol rehabilitation program,” Sheriff’s Department spokesman, Steve Whitmore, told Usmagazine.com.
“It is a jail,” Whitmore said. “We have several jails in the south facility — he is in a compound area of it.”
