Robert De Niro and his wife Grace Hightower hired a nanny back in 2006. Ten months later she was fired.

The court papers filed by Alexis Barry, the fired nanny, say that De Niro and Hightower never paid her for over 750 hours in overtime. There were also 10 vacation days that Barry never took that she did not receive payment for.

Barry was fired shortly after she said she was going to quit. Barry claims she is owed more than $40,000 and has filed a lawsuit with the Manhattan state Supreme Court.

De Niro’s spokesman, Stan Rosenfield, said that since he hasn’t seen a lawsuit he couldn’t comment.

It’s been over three years, why wait until now to sue? I wonder if this is a justifiable claim.
