Star Trek Goes To Australia

Star Trek The Movie

Star Trek The Movie

The coming of the 11th Star Trek movie has thousands of people excited. I must admit, I’m not a big Star Trek fan but after I saw the trailer for it, I was excited about seeing it! When the trailer was first released there were approximately 1.8 millions downloads within the first 24 hours.

Star Trek fans eagerly await the the 11th movie which is scheduled for release May 8th in the US and May 7th in Australia. Paramount Pictures Australia said today that this action adventure movie will be making its world premiere at the Sydney Opera House on the 7th of April. This world tour will kick off in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia, Spain and Britain.

Mike Selwyn of Paramount Pictures Australia said that “Not only are we honored to have J.J. Abrams and the cast here in Sydney for the world premiere of the stunning new ‘Star Trek,’ we are also very excited to present this event at one of Australia’s — and the world’s — most famous locations, Sydney Opera House.”

This Star Trek movie mirrors the beginning of Kirk and the starship USS Enterprise. It will be based on the creator Gene Roddenberry’s original tv series dated around the late 60’s. Leonard Nimoy, the original Vulcan Mr. Spock, will be the only original cast member on this film. Leonard at 77 will make a cameo appearance. Leonard at first wanted the 11th movie to be filmed in the town called Vulcan in Alberta, Canada, a small farming town. Unfortunately this town did not have a cinema. Bummer!
