The Jonas Brothers’s new song “Poison Ivy” is about a toxic relationship, not about any of their ex-girlfriends.

“It’s a song about how something may not be too good for you, but you keep going back to it because you cant resist the urge, the itch, to go back to the person,” Nick Jonas, 16, told PEOPLE. “I think that’s something people can relate to.”

Nick adds, he and his brothers’ famous ex-girlfriends should not be worried, and fans shouldn’t assume, it’s about a specific person.

“Sometimes when we write songs, it’s not something we’ve been through,” Nick said before performing.

The new album is called “Lines, Vines, and Trying Times”. It is scheduled to be out on June 16.

“It’s something that we’ve seen someone else go through and we say, ‘Why don’t we write a song about that?’ “
